Lions Gate Hospital Expansion
Ralph and May Ackenhusen, COO of Lions Gate Hospital review expansion plans for the emergency ward. Now open, the new $24 million Jim Pattison Emergency Centre expands traige, resuscitation rooms and a decontamination area. Ralph is also helping to drive the agenda toward the construction of a new $45 Million Mental Health and Addictions Centre at Lions Gate Hospital.

Provincial funding keeps streets safe
Ralph meets with local police officers who help protect our safety. More than $5.25 million in traffic fine revenues has helped police fight crime in West Vancouver and North Vancouver during 2007 and 2008. The government will fight gang violence province wide by dedicating an additional 168 police officers and 10 prosecutors.
BC Budget raises per-pupil funding
The father of four and grandfather of five, Ralph knows that Budget 2009 will help B.C. families by raising per-pupil K-12 funding to $8,242 - the highest level ever.
Seismic upgrades for West Vancouver Secondary
West Vancouver Secondary school will be a safer place to study thanks to $1.3 million from the province for seismic upgrades. The project will also incorporate B.C. wood, to help keep B.C. construction workers on the job.
